A level Textiles is not just about creating clothing, it’s a versatile subject that involves the creation and manipulation of a range of materials. This multi-disciplinary course encompasses a variety of creative methods including drawing, painting, printing, knitting, weaving, stitching, and more.
You will explore the use of traditional and innovative materials, techniques, and processes to communicate and demonstrate your ideas. You can use these techniques to explore fashion, interiors, or fine art textiles. An important aspect of the course is to consider the work of artists and designers to inspire your own creative thinking.
There are no additional formal entry requirements for this subject. It is desirable but not essential to have studied an art or textiles based subject before. All students will complete a two-week assessment on commencement of the course.
