FAQs

Applying and Choosing your Course

  • How many applications can I make, and how many offers can I accept?

You can submit as many applications as you like. You’re also welcome to attend interviews for each course you apply for.

You can accept multiple offers across different subjects, and you won’t need to make a final decision until you book your enrolment slot.

  • I’ve forgotten my ProPortal login details. How can I reset them?

Your ProPortal password is created when you apply, and you’ll be asked to change it the first time you log in. If you’ve forgotten your login details, please contact the admissions team for your campus and they’ll help you to regain access.
If you’ve applied for more than one course, you’ll use the same ProPortal account for all your applications.

  • What if I choose the wrong level?

There is no need to reapply! Just get in touch with us and we’ll update your application so you’re invited to the correct interview.

  • Can I change the course I’ve applied for?

Yes. If you’d like to change your application, you can contact the admissions team or submit a new application through our website. You can apply for multiple courses and attend more than one interview; you’ll make your final decision at enrolment.

In some subject areas, you may be able to discuss alternative course options during your interview. If you’ve already been interviewed for one subject and want to apply for another, you’ll need to attend a separate interview for that course.

  • Can I cancel or withdraw my application?

Yes, if you no longer wish to continue with your application, just let us know so we can update your record.

You can withdraw your application by:
    – Emailing the Contact Centre at contact@leedssixthform.ac.uk or your campus admissions team
    – Logging into your ProPortal account
    – Calling us on 0113 532 4428

Please include your full name, date of birth, Student Reference Number (B-number, if you know it), and the course you applied for. We’ll send you a confirmation email once your withdrawal has been processed.

If you’re unsure about withdrawing, contact us! We’re happy to talk through other course options or future start dates before you decide.

Interviews and Offers

Getting Ready for Enrolment

  • Can I complete my enrolment online?

Enrolment must be in person so we can check your documents, confirm your details, and issue you a student ID and lanyard.

If you can’t make your appointment, please contact the admissions team to rearrange a suitable time.

  • What if I don’t get the grades I was hoping for? Should I still attend enrolment?

Yes, please still attend your enrolment slot. Even if you don’t meet the entry requirements for your original course, we may be able to offer you a place at a different level within the same subject area, or help you explore an alternative pathway.

Options might include starting on a lower-level course with English and Maths included, joining a GCSE programme, or moving onto a different route that aligns with your grades, interests and goals. We’ll talk everything through with you at enrolment.

  • When will I receive my timetable and lanyard?

You’ll receive your lanyard on your enrolment day. Your timetable will be released shortly after enrolment, usually in early September.
If you haven’t received it before your course begins, please contact your school admin team.

  • When will I receive information about uniforms?

If your course requires a uniform, details and ordering links are usually shared during enrolment. In some departments, this may also be discussed at your interview.

  • Can I still apply or enrol if I miss the enrolment period? What if I’m on holiday?

Yes, you can still apply after the main enrolment period. However, we can’t guarantee availability. To give yourself the best chance, we recommend completing your interview, receiving your offer, and booking an enrolment slot as early as you can.

If you’re going to be away during the main enrolment dates, you can attend one of our late enrolment sessions. In some cases, if you let us know in advance, we may be able to make arrangements; but this isn’t always possible, and spaces may still be very limited. For this reason, we strongly encourage enrolling as early as you’re able to.

Once You've Joined Us

  • When is induction, and what if I miss it?

Induction usually takes place in late August or early September, and the exact date and time will vary depending on your course. Your tutor will contact you during, or shortly after, enrolment with all the details.

If you can’t attend or you miss your induction, please let your tutor know as soon as possible so you can catch up.

  • When can I apply for bursaries or funding?

You can apply for a bursary once you’ve enrolled. After enrolment, you’ll receive a link to the application form. You’ll then need to provide evidence of your household income to the relevant team.

  • When can I get a confirmation of enrolment letter (for employers or benefits)?

Confirmation letters can be issued once you’ve been attending college for two weeks. Please speak to your school admin team and they’ll be able to help.
