Course Overview

The skills gained from studying a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) subject at A level (or degree level) are in demand by employers. Graduates from STEM subjects earn on average 5% to 10% more than those who studied other courses.

  • Units/Modules
    Further Maths covers topics that aren’t explored in A level Maths or Core Maths. Studying further maths allows you to step up your skills in preparation for university. Topics studied may include advanced problem solving, mathematical argument and mathematical modelling. As well as learning new areas of mathematics, you will study further applications of it in pure and decision mathematics.
  • Careers/Progression
    A level Further Mathematics is highly regarded by universities. If you’re planning a degree in areas such as engineering, science, computing, finance, economics or mathematics, you will benefit enormously. Many university engineering and mathematics courses list A Level Further Mathematics as ‘essential’ or ‘desirable’.
